A Few Winter Screenings...

Anchorage, AK and Nevada City, CA

Just when we think our festival run is over, a couple more screenings pop up...

First off, we're screening twice at the Anchorage International Film Festival (the festival that has perhaps the best tagline ever: films worth freezing for):

You can find more info on the festival here. They don't do online ticket sales, but advance tickets are available at the Bear Tooth Theatrepub box office. Or you can buy tickets at the actual screenings, of course. Please note that the screening venues only accept cash or checks.

We'll also be screening in January at the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in lovely Nevada City, CA, running January 15-17, 2010. Since this one is so close to home, I will be in attendance.

The Perfect Cappuccino will screen on Saturday, January 16 at the Miners Foundry Stone Hall. The film will screen as part of a block of films that starts at 9:00 am. Our approximate screening time is set for 10:20 am (but that could change). For updated details on screening times and info on tickets, please visit the Wild & Scenic website.

I will also be doing an interview about the film that will be webcast live on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 2 to 2:30 pm pacific time. As soon as they let me know the URL for the webcast, I'll post it here.

THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO on DVD June 30, 2009

We're very proud to announce that THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO will be available for purchase on DVD as of June 30th. You'll be able to buy it through this website for $20. The DVD will have some unique bonus features, including...

--Interviews/demos with two former U.S. barista champs, Kyle Glanville of Intelligentsia and Heather Perry of Coffee Klatch
--A brief history of the espresso machine, featuring the collection of Enrico Maltoni
--Two top-notch boutique roasters explaining their roast philosophies: Giuseppe from Rome's Sant'Eustachio, and Brian from DoubleShot Coffee in Tulsa

Benefit Screening for Coffee Kids & Bikes to Rwanda

April 14 - Athens, Georgia

THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO will screen for one night only in Athens, Georgia as part of a kick-off party for Athens local Zech White's unique bicycle tour in support of two coffee-related charities: Bikes to Rwanda and Coffee Kids.

Zech intends to spend the coming year riding his bike across the U.S. to raise money and awareness of these two charities (with help from sponsors, of course...) The screening will be part of the kick-off party that sends Zech on his way and will be followed by a cappuccino-making contest and tasting. 100% of the proceeds from the screening will go to Bikes to Rwanda and Coffee Kids. Sounds like good fun - I wish I could be there in person!

The screening is set to take place at Athens Cine on Tuesday, April 14 - exact time TBD. Check back here for screening times as the date approaches.

Zech will be blogging about his experiences once the ride starts, so watch this space for a link once his blog goes live.

Coffee Kids is a non-profit founded in 1988 to help coffee-farming families improve their quality of life. Coffee Kids focuses on four areas in particular: health care, education, micro-credit, and community-based projects.

Bikes to Rwanda is a more recently-founded non-profit whose purpose is to provide cargo bicycles to cooperative coffee farmers in Rwanda, to assist in transporting their coffee to market and improving their overall quality of life.

Sedona International Film Festival - Sedona, Arizona - Feb. 24 - March 1, 2009
THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO screens on Wednesday, February 25 at 9:15 am and on Thursday, February 26 at 9:15 am. Both screenings will be preceded by CREMA SUPREMA, a Canadian animated short about a cake baking contest. The film's very talented composer, Gordy Haab, will be present for a Q&A after the Thursday screening.

Reno, Nevada - Eco-Film Night at The River School - Saturday, February 28 - 7 pm
The River School, an environmentally sustainable event space and small farm on the Truckee River, will host THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO as part of its regular film screening series.

San Luis Obispo International Film Festival - San Luis Obispo, CA - March 6 - 15, 2009
THE PERFECT CAPPUCCINO will screen on Saturday, March 7 at noon at the Downtown Center Cinema. I will be there in person for Q&A/general revelry.

In conjunction with the SLO film fest, the film will also have two screenings at Joe Momma's, in neighboring Avila Beach. Joe Momma's regularly hosts Soup Night to raise money for worthy causes. So for $15 you get a hearty soup dinner - and some of the best coffee on California's central coast - and a chance to watch the film. On Saturday, March 7, they'll screen The Perfect Cappuccino twice, once at 5:30 pm and once at 7:30 pm. I will be present at both screenings, and every penny of your $15 will go to support the SLO film festival. Reservations are recommended, as Soup Night usually sells out. Call (805) 627-1500.

Tulsa Premiere this Sunday!
